oh, the packing!

Its been a surprisingly relaxing weekend, considering that the one and only thing that I allowed myself to do is pack, pack and PACK! Gah! I can't believe I'm moving next week. But the more I think about it, the more excited I get. I looooooove my new place!

Pretty much everyone is out of town this weekend, which is probably a good thing, since I have been so distracted by my social life recently. John and Belinda are running a marathon in San Diego, Scott is down in SD as well visiting friends, Johnnie, Philippe and Emi are at Yosemite, and Nathan is out in NY for a wedding. That just leaves little 'ole me and a big-ass pile of boxes.

Its actually been rather cathartic to be alone again. I woke up yesterday am, and found my way to Thinker's for my weekly lox, bagel and capers; then I headed over to get MiniBun a bath, and some additional boxes that I needed. This morning, I plan to head over to Aperto for a solo brunch, and then make a quick run to Office Depot for more supplies before tackling my kitchen.

Even last week, I was mostly good: Tres Agave with Johnnie on Wednesday, and the Irish Bank, followed by Bar Crudo with Rob, Colin and Johnnie on Friday. This ain't nothin' compared to the previous 2 weeks, where I drank for basically 10 days straight.

On top of it all, I'm getting wiser in my packing. I put together a schedule, and have been sticking to it diligently. At the rate I'm going, I might be 90% packed up this weekend, which will allow me to have a normal week, and most importantly, NOT STRESS OUT!

[Progress Report, 5:10 pm] I'm done with the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom and my room (minus clothes), and I'm so sick of packing! Bleh. I've gotten at least 80% of packing done so far, and yet, it doesn't feel like I've accomplished much. Must be because there are little miscellaneous bits everywhere, and things are still mostly a mess.

But I posted this to pat myself on the back. Usually I'm packing the night before, if not the morning, of the move - this time, I'm a good week ahead. I should still organize what remains to be done, though, so I don't end up going out all week and pulling an all-nighter in the end.
