i got an ipod shuffle!

I got my iPod Shuffle yesterday. Its so cute! I don't know how to use it yet, but its so cute!

Can anyone recommend some tunes? I feel so lost now that Britney's all pregnant and stuff.

oola-la

Last night, we had the official first dinner of the Girls Supper Club at Oola's. The food was absolutely mag, and of course, the company was great.

Julie, Irma, Diana and I met up at Oola's around 8, and automatically ordered a bottle of Stag's Leap Petite Syrah, one of my favorite wines. Once we were seated, we got down to the business of ordering... deciding on almost 10 small plates to share, so that we could get a taste of everything!

The stand-outs of the night (and there are many) include the Mixed Farmer's Green with heart of palm, Roasted Corn Soup, the Foie Gras, Baby Back Ribs basted with a ginger-soy sauce, and Figs stuffed with Goat Cheese and Prosciutto. The salad was particularly amazing, because how often can one say that salad is amazing? Of course, my personal favorite was the foie gras - it was glazer over with a fruit sauce that amazingly wasn't too sweet, and stuffed with a lone fig inside.

Julie, Irma, Diana and I toast to good food and good friends.

These girls are some of my favorite dining buddies because despite the fairly elegant restaurants we choose, we don't have a problem being a pig in front of each other! Case in point:

Diana: "I grew up with immigrant parents so I'm going to suck on the ribs."

Replied Julie: "I grew up with poor parents, so I'm going to lick the plate."

Me: "I am an immigrant, so I'll just eat the damn plate."

After our 10 plate meal, we topped it off with two amazing desserts - a dark chocolate bread pudding, and pot de creme with strawberries - and some coffee. Maybe we were giddy from the sugar or the food, but the conversation went a little less, er, classy, and I think we scared the older folks dining at the next table.

We've decided that our supper club will meet regularly, on the first Thursday of every month. I can't wait for our next one!

... and a Bag of Chips!

Please come join me at the final party that I'm throwing as the Director for 09:Babies Productions! Its this Saturday, 8/6, from 9 - 2 at the Madrone Lounge.

... and a Bag of Chips! will be a totally bodacious 80's party featuring the tunes of DJs ePop, kap$hure, Jarret Cooper and Terrac. All proceeds will go to the SF AIDS Walk.

After that, I'm handing over the group to Wiggins (don't forget to check out our anniversary party - dates TBD!) as I prepare for the long, arduous journey that will be bschool applications.

Hope to see you on Sat!

i'm going under!

After a good month of enjoying my return to downtown SF, I'm ready to start getting serious about b-school again.

This week is my last week going out the way that I have. After that, Kaplan starts (yes, I'm just sucking it up and taking the course - I didn't manage to crack 700 by myself) and b-school apps come out later this month. I tried to add in social time into my schedule, but for the most part I'll be in b-school hibernation until at least mid-October.

Then I'll take a break and get started on the joint-degree program apps. Man, am I going to be broke by the end of this year.

On top of which, I've decided to get serious about getting back in shape. So I joined the Bay Club officially today, and also signed up for a 12-session Allegro Pilates package. Look for me to be back in the gym 5+ days a week. If I'm not ready for that damn wedding in November, I never will be.

Please don't forget about me, my darling friends! I promise I'll resurface every once in a while...
